Any Bank/Credit Union can offer HSAs, but do you want to do it right?
In a recent survey, 3 out of 4 people had never even heard of a Health Savings Account (HSA). Yet in the month of January, more Americans set up a Health Savings Account (HSA) than in all of 2004 combined. In February, the number of participants doubled again. Financial Research Corporation released a report March 21st, 2005 estimating 8.2 million Health Savings Accounts with 50 billion in assets by the end of 2010. hsa Trustee Services considers these figures to be very conservative.
Health Savings Accounts are growing faster than anyone expected, and offering HSAs is also a great way for your institution to collect fee income via setup and monthly administration fees. But for your HSA program to be successful, proper setup is critical.
